Fans of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War can download a brand new update later today.

The November 2 update finally brings Zombies Onslaught mode to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.

The mode was previously only available on PlayStation consoles, after Sony bought exclusive rights for 12 months.

Onslaught is described as a fast-paced Zombies experience with two-person cooperative gameplay.

It features its own special reward system and 23 different maps to explore.

Onslaught launches on Xbox and PC as part of the November 2 Update in the US. The current time difference means that UK fans will be able to download and install the update on November 3 at 4am GMT.

Treyarch has also given fans a taste of what else to expect from this week’s big Black Ops Cold War update.

According to the developer, fans can unlock the Hammer and Sickle melee weapon.

In addition to challenges, new animated Calling Cards will be available, as well as new Prestige Shop Weapon Blueprint and Legacy content.

The Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War November 2 Early Patch Notes…

• Hammer and sickle melee

• 100 Percenter challenges with new animated calling cards

• New Prestige Shop Weapon Blueprint & Legacy Content

• Zombies attack on all platforms with 23 cards

• Rampage Inducer updates

Obviously the most exciting new addition is Onslaught’s appearance on non-PlayStation consoles.

As part of the game mode, teams of two operators will be deployed in one of several locations derived from different multiplayer maps.

Treyarch explains more: “As soon as you enter, the attack begins; the Dark Aether Orb will confine your duo to a specific space on the map, where the undead will begin to spawn.

Killing these zombies will give you power to the Orb. Kill enough zombies and the Orb will move. While in the Orb, you won’t take Dark Aether damage from outside the specific map zone protecting the Orb, causing players stay alive as she fights against increasingly difficult undead enemies, with each “wave” bringing more resilient, faster and deadlier zombies.

“As the Orb gains power and you clear out more enemies, expect to keep moving as the safe area shifts to different areas on the map, forcing you to change strategies as you fend off the immortal horde.”

Elite enemies will also appear, and this is how players can earn better ranks in Onslaught.
