Guardians will be hunting Xur again soon this week, while Bungie brings back the elusive Destiny 2 trader with a new pile of exotic loot.

As usual, the legendary Shard and Glimmer obsessive returns to the game after a short break on the sidelines following the weekly reset.

And while there’s no clear way of knowing what Xur will be offering this week, gamers should know soon after tracking him down on his planet of choice.

Xur is located in only a few unique places across the worlds of Destiny, including places like the EDZ, Nessus, and The Tower.

Last week, Xur could be found in The Tower near Dead Orbit, selling several select items.

These include the Vigilance Wing Primary Pulse Rifle, Shards of Galanor Hunter Gauntlets, Antaeus Wards Titan Leg Armor, and Karnstein Armlets Warlock Gauntlets.

These can all be purchased with the right amount of Legendary Shards and Glimmer, including a number of other items.

Legendary weapons and armor can also be purchased from Xur during Season 15, with more expected in the game later in the day.

And for those who forgot, Legendary Shards used by Xur are remnants of powerful items used to upgrade equipment or trade it for other gear.

It should also be noted that Xur will drop items that are similar in power level to your character.

And another part of Xur that’s new in the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he’s now dropping Cipher Quests for free.

The Quest will reward you with an exotic number, and last week involved completing 21 Strikes or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.

Each week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that are decoded as Exotics not already in your collection.

Last week also saw Guardians try to keep Xur in the game for as long as possible using an instance exploit.

Efforts were made so that as many Guardians as possible could try and get their hands on a True Prophecy weapon using the Rangefinder and Timed Payload.

It’s also likely that a larger audience will be looking for Xur this week, following the removal of the launch of another major event on Friday.

With Iron Banner back in the mix, no Trials of Osiris will launch today on PS4, Xbox One or PC.

Bungie also announced that even more changes will be made after several weekends of matchmaking experiments.

“Last weekend we tried out some matchmaking changes in Trials of Osiris. We moved to a system that put some focus on overall wins, pushing players into different categories depending on how much they played (and won) in a given weekend.

“While we’re thrilled with the amount of data we’ve been able to collect, this matchmaking system fell short of the goals we set last Thursday.

“As we continue to fine-tune the settings we would like for Trials in general, we appreciate everyone who has bought a few cards and sounded with feedback. Linking data to player feedback and experiences is key to lasting good luck.”
