Fortnite developer Epic Games has released a new hotfix for Battle Royale.

The latest Fortnite update is available for download on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Android.

The new update was announced by Epic Games on Twitter, along with a preview of what to expect.

“Refine your opponents with the new Combat Pistol and improvements to the Sideways Rifle, now live in today’s Battle Royale hotfix!” reads an epic tweet.

“With this Hotfix, the Shadow Flopper has been included in competitive playlists.”

While it’s not the biggest update, the good news is that the hotfix doesn’t require server downtime.

Found in chests, on the ground and while fishing, the combat pistol sports a tight ball spread and “exceptional strength”.

The only drawback is that the gun’s powerful firepower coincides with a strong recoil, which makes it quite difficult to handle.

As for the sideways rifle, the pistol is now said to be more accurate, while also reaching its super-powered state more quickly.

Fortnite update 18.30 hotfix patch notes…

BATTLE GUN: POWER WITH A KICK

• Like the Combat Assault Rifle, the Combat Pistol has a tight bullet spread and exceptional power. This power coincides with a strong recoil, so it takes a smart bum to unleash its full potential.

• Battle guns can be found in chests, on the ground and while fishing. The standard gun is domed because the combat gun is spread all over the island.

THE SIDE-MOUNTING RIFLE IMPROVED

• The Sideways Rifle has undergone some refinements! It now reaches its super-powered state (or “near overheating”) faster, stays there longer, and is more accurate. Pick one and take advantage of these changes.

Fortnite Battle Royale fixes…

• Players cannot participate in split screen matchmaking.

– Players playing in split screen will not be able to join the matchmaking queue.

• Using the “Smash Attack” ability with the side scythe can cause fall damage.

– We are aware of an issue that causes players to take fall damage when using the “Smash Attack” ability on the side scythe from a high vantage point, from the edge of a tall building or hill.

• Red dot indicator is no longer displayed on the compass when enemies are firing.

– The red dot indicator that appears when enemies fire close by will no longer appear on the compass.

• Error message when equipping certain color combinations of Tricksy.

– When players try to equip certain color combinations of the Tricksy Outfit, players may get an error message.

• Wolverine’s built-in emote doesn’t work correctly

– When using Wolverine’s built-in SNIKT emote, the claws do not replace the pickaxe as intended.

Fortnite Creative Solutions…

• Trees do not appear on the island map.

– We are investigating an issue where trees placed around the island do not appear on the island map.
