Level-5 ends service in Japan in December

The story around Fantasy life online from level 5 will be even more confused from today. Less than a month ago, we received word that Boltrend Games wanted to bring the simulation RPG for mobile devices to the West. A waiting period of years is coming to an end.

Today, however, a major setback comes from Japan, as Level-5 will stop working in Japan on December 15th after just over three years. What this means for publication in the West is unclear. In any case, that’s not a good prospect.

Fantasy Life Online was originally released for mobile devices in Japan in July 2018. The game has had an eventful development history like some level 5 games. In 2015, the title, then still called Fantasy Life 2, was announced for smartphones and should also be released that year. A year later, the role-playing game was rebranded as Fantasy Life Online and delayed several times.

You can find details about the new one official website by Boltrend Games.

In Fantasy Life Online, “Life” means a character class. There are a total of twelve, divided into three categories: fighters, collectors and craftsmen. Depending on the “Life” selected, the game experience will change accordingly. You can go on adventures alone or with others, live with friends in the village, collect materials, craft equipment and – of course – defeat impressive opponents.
