It won’t be long before gamers download a new patch and get access to the next Call of Duty Warzone event.

Activision has confirmed that Operation Flashback will go live this week, which likely means a new Warzone update is coming.

Described as an exclusive mode that will be available through the Warzone menu, Operation Flashback is part of the Verdansk celebrations scheduled for November.

According to Activision, “While Vanguard is getting Shipment and other offerings to complement its already vast array of single-player, co-op, and multiplayer experiences, Warzone is gearing up for the end of Verdansk as we know it.”

A new Warzone map is launching as part of the Call of Duty Vanguard Season One release, which will also be the time when both games begin to fully integrate.

This makes it possible for Vanguard and Warzone gamers to share a Battle Pass, XP progression path, and cosmetics.

Weapons will also be added to both games, and this will also be the time when Activision adds a new Anti-Cheat system to Call of Duty Warzone.

Season one kicks off on December 2, meaning there’s very little time to enjoy Verdansk before the new Warzone Pacific map arrives.

To do that in style, Activision is hosting several Warzone events, starting this week with Operation Flashback.

A new Call of Duty Warzone update will go live on Thursday, December 18, adding Operation Flashback to the game as part of a new playlist.

This is expected to happen between 4pm GMT and 6pm GMT and is likely to coincide with the start of the Vanguard Free Access weekend hosted on the same day.

For now, all we know is that this new mode will make it possible to celebrate Verdansk’s past, with Raven Software telling fans:

“The city and its environs have hosted more than 100 million players in the past 18 months, and a lot has changed since March 10, 2020. From a blast to the year 1984 to hosting Action Heroes and Hauntings from the 80s, Verdansk proved the place to be. to invade again and again.

“To celebrate and bring back these classic moments and much more, lead developer Raven Software has created a special limited-time mode “Operation: Flashback” featuring plenty of surprises spanning the action-packed history of Verdansk.

“Two unique rewards are up for grabs: an event entry badge and an animated business card for those who claim victory.

“Enjoy the nostalgia and be rewarded with an emblem just to play. Those who claim victory will also receive an animated Calling Card, a testament to Warzone’s mastery of the past and present as we look to the future.”

More news about the event will be shared before everything goes live on November 18.
