The common people are about to invade the servers with the launch of Battlefield 2042 Standard Edition.

The good news is that by then EA will hopefully have fixed most of the worst crashes and games should flow smoothly across all platforms.

Developers DICE have confirmed that a minor patch will be rolled out later today to fix some of the worst issues, many of which can be found on PC.

And this should leave the door open for many more BF fans to jump in and start playing with their friends.

The only major thing holding crossplay back at the moment is that BF 2042 doesn’t have in-game chat, meaning you’ll have to use something else to communicate with friends until it’s properly enabled.

But with all that out of the way and known, here’s what we know about the upcoming Battlefield 2042 Standard launch.

The release date of Battlefield 2042 has been set for Friday, November 19, across all platforms, but some will start playing earlier.

According to the latest information, the release time of Battlefield 2042 for PS5 and Xbox Series X is scheduled for Friday at 12:00 PM local time.

Meanwhile, PC gamers will have to wait until 8am GMT in the UK, and the game will go live worldwide at 12pm PDT.

The trial version of the game will remain available for use on EA Play for anyone who wants to try it before purchasing.

EA Play is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X platforms, and a version of EA Play is also available on PC.

EA Play Pro costs more but offers full access to the game without the time limit set on the console.

Meanwhile, owning Xbox Game Pass Ultimate makes it possible to play the EA Play Early Access trial on Xbox and PC.

A big draw for many players is access to Battlefield Portal, a new mode that offers access to previous games, as well as the ability to build new experiences.

“From launch, we have standard live in-game experiences that allow you to relive these classic maps, alongside their classic factions, equipped with the weapons, gadgets and classes that brought them to life.

“Within Battlefield Portal, you can jump into those modes directly from the game, or if you prefer, you can use these experiences as starting points that you can edit to create something more personal.

You can make simple edits to armor, add more cards to the rotation, or you can start tweaking things as finely detailed as bullet speed, health recovery rate, and whether a player takes more damage when he gets hit in the head, or to the torso.”

The final release date for all versions of Battlefield 2042 is set for November 19, 2021.
