Xbox Series X stock warning – Console could be even harder to buy in the UK
If you hope to get one Xbox Series X before Christmas then you better act fast when the next stock is available again. Large online store AO.com warns that the Xbox Series X is one of the popular products that could be in short supply this Christmas. In the lead up to Black Friday 2021, AO World has warned that a global shortage of computer chips and supply chain problems could mean that products like the Xbox Series X are in short supply.
Other gadgets that will be hard to come by this Christmas include the PS5 and Apple iPhones.
AO issued this warning as they said the festive trading period could be “significantly softer” than expected.
As reported by the BBC, the online electricity retailer said: “At the beginning of our fiscal year in April, we had planned further revenue growth and built our cost base accordingly.
“However, growth in the UK since then has been impacted by the nationwide delivery shortage and ongoing disruption to the global supply chain, and the German online market has seen significantly more competition.
“As we now look to the second half, we continue to see significant supply chain challenges with poor availability in certain categories, particularly in our newer products where we have less scale, experience and leverage.
AO also said shipping costs, rising inflation and material costs mean “challenging uncertainties” remain.
For those trying to get an Xbox Series X since it launched last year, the news may not seem like such a big change from the norm.
Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X have been incredibly hard to come by since they first hit shelves last November, with the global semiconductor shortage making these next-gen consoles in short supply.
But for anyone hoping to buy an Xbox Series X soon – either as a treat for themselves or as a gift to put under the Christmas tree – it’s best to try and jump on any upcoming restocks with military-level planning once you get the hang of it. a whiff of an incoming stock drop.
Fortunately, despite the Xbox Series X being scarce, there have been some recent additions – such as EE getting a new batch of stock for its customers and GAME reselling the Halo Infinite limited edition Xbox Series X after an initial batch of pre-orders. orders debuted in the summer.
