The question of where Xur is this week will be answered very soon for gamers on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.

And it follows a deluge of news from Bungie about how the game’s next Destiny 2 update will work.

After revealing that a new 30th Anniversary Pack for Destiny 2 will be launched next month, the development team behind the hit shooter also shares its limitations.

This included an update regarding the crossplay implications for the new DLC, which will be limited to just one platform per purchase.

A message from Bungie explains: “The 30th Anniversary Pack, which launches on December 7, 2021, will function as DLC (like Beyond Light or Shadowkeep) and not as seasonal content. DLC licenses are not transferred between Cross-Save platforms like Seasons do.

“This means that the 30th Anniversary Pack will be exclusively accessible on the platform it was purchased on, regardless of the Cross-Save configuration. Players must purchase the 30th Anniversary Pack on whatever platform they wish to use it on.”

The good news is that while there will be some disappointing crossplay issues for the 30th anniversary, it won’t affect Xur’s return.

There will be plenty of new exotic weapons and legendary armor pieces available to check out when the elusive merchant returns later in the day.

Xur will be back in play between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM GMT, but Bungie is not releasing its final location. Instead, Guardians must explore all of his normal abodes, including the EDZ, The Tower, and Nessus.

A full report of what new exotics are available to buy will be shared within minutes of his return.

Last week, Xur Fighting Lion sold for 29 Legendary Shards, Young Ahamkara’s Spine for 23 Legendary Shards, Ursa Furiosa for 23 Legendary Shards, and Aeon Soul for 23.

For those new to Destiny, the Legendary Shards used by Xur are remnants of powerful items used to improve equipment or trade it for other things.

It should also be noted that Xur will drop items that are similar in power level to your character. And another part of Xur that’s new in the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he’s now dropping Cipher Quests for free.

The Quest will reward you with an exotic figure, and last week involved completing 21 Strikes or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.

Each week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that are decoded as Exotics not already in your collection.
