Fortnite matchmaking down
Fortnite players are currently unable to log in and play Battle Royale Chapter 3.
The Fortnite servers are currently at full capacity, meaning players will not be able to experience the new season.
Fans who try to log in will be told that there is currently no space on the servers, or that they do not have permission to play Fortnite.
The problem seems to be worst when you try to join a game and the servers try to matchmake.
“We’re all out of buses. Don’t worry, there are a few on the way back,” reads a message from Epic Games.
Fortunately, it looks like the issues will be resolved soon, with some players being able to rejoin the game after a reboot.
Epic has acknowledged the issue and explains that signups, purchases, and matchmaking can be delayed.
“We are aware that login, purchases, parties and matchmaking may be delayed. We will provide an update when this is back to normal,” explains Epic.
Needless to say, the issues have not gone down well with fans, who have complained about the issues on social media.
“Fortnite is now available and works for ps4/ps5! Only thing that doesn’t work right now is matchmaking,” tweeted one fan.
Other users tried to restart the game but were returned to the downtime screen.
“I started fortnite a few minutes ago (0930est) and it opened up with the new cinematic thing of the season pass, and then gobs of quests and challenges, which I like. Matchmaking didn’t work though, so I restarted the game and it’s back to my dude floating on the log.”
Finally, one player suggests trying a different game mode: “If you have matchmaking mistakes, play cheaters, it works.”
