Developers Sledgehammer Games will release the next major patch for Call of Duty Vanguard on Tuesday, December 7.

Gamers will soon download the Vanguard Season One update, a content drop that will bring new weapons, maps and zombie experiences to the WWII shooter.

From what’s been shared so far, Vanguard will be updated at 5pm GMT on December 7, and anyone who wants to continue playing online will need to patch their game.

The only downside is that Vanguard Season One won’t start until later this week, along with the new Caldera map launching for Call of Duty Warzone.

This is because Activision wants a unified launch for both games, even though there will be a delay for some gamers who don’t own Vanguard.

A message from Activision explains: “Stand on a new front and discover this secret in Season One of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific, a huge island introduction to another incredible year for Call of Duty – complete with free weapons , Maps , Operators and more content especially for Vanguard owners.

“Season one kicks off on December 8, following updates to Vanguard and Warzone. Vanguard’s update is scheduled for December 6 at 9 p.m. PT. Warzone will schedule its update for when it shuts down its servers from December 7th at 9pm PT to December 8th at 9am PT to get ready for Warzone Pacific.

Based on the information above, the release time of Vanguard Season One has been set at 5:00 PM GMT on December 8th. Meanwhile, gamers who don’t own Vanguard will have to wait 24 hours before they can play the new Caldera map in Warzone. .

Those just playing Warzone for free will have to wait until December 9, and Activision is adding today:

“Purchase Call of Duty: Vanguard before December 8 to participate in a 24-hour exclusive entry event of Caldera in Warzone Pacific, starting December 8 at 9 a.m. PT. Digital copies of Vanguard will have instant access to Caldera during the 24-hour exclusivity period, while those who purchase a physical version will need to install and launch Vanguard and get past the first interactive screen to access this Warzone Pacific event.

And below are some of the confirmed content drops included in today’s Vanguard update:

CALL OF DUTY SEASON A PATCH NOTES

Cooper Carbine: Assault Rifle (Launch, Tier 15 of Battle Pass System)

An American hybrid rifle with SMG-like features, the Cooper Carbine is a short-range assault rifle that is easy to control with a high rate of fire. It can best be compared to the Automaton, another popular rapid-fire assault rifle that community members have gravitated toward since its launch. By default, the Cooper Carbine has a slightly slower rate of fire, shorter effective range, and a bit more horizontal recoil, but in return offers better damage per shot, faster centering rate, and a larger stock magazine.

Gorenko Anti-Tank Rifle: Sniper Rifle (Launch, Tier 31 of Battle Pass System)

A heavy semi-automatic rifle, the Gorenko offers the most damage per shot of all ballistic weapons, and is able to shoot down any enemy in one shot with ease in Multiplayer. Although it is semi-automatic, follow-up shots can be difficult to get due to the incredible kick the high caliber bullets produce.

Sawtooth: Melee (Launch, Tier 37 of Battle Pass system)

The first functional melee weapon ever dropped within the Battle Pass system is a serious bite. The sawtooth is sewn with shark teeth along the perimeter of the club and can smack and slash enemies just as well as the FS Fighting Knife. Think of it as an alternate option to the lone secondary melee weapon in Vanguard.

Katana: Melee (start screen)

This one-sided Japanese longsword adds another deadly close-quarter combat option in addition to the FS Fighting Knife and Sawtooth.

Welgun: SMG (in season)

The Welgun is making its way into the Vanguard arsenal, despite being produced in limited quantities. Like the Sten with the standard ammunition chambers, the Welgun is extremely compact and has relatively good balance thanks to built-in handles. Unlock the Katana and Welgun during season one in Vanguard or Warzone Pacific, either through a challenge or in new store bundles, both to arrive during the season.

Paradise (Launch): A weapons test site somewhere in the Pacific Ocean hosts all task force operators for joint exercises. Medium sized map in three lane style with an underground tunnel and pools of toxic waste.

Radar (Launch): An updated version of Dome, the classic Modern Warfare 3 map. This small radar station in the Pacific Ocean is built for high-speed combat. Remember not to camp on the catwalks!

Control returns (launch window)

Best known as a popular third mode in competitive Call of Duty, Control will return in Vanguard Multiplayer in the Season One launch window.
