PlayStation Plus December 2021 free games: bad news for PS4 and PS5 gamers

Recent articles

Each monthly launch has its own ups and downs, with bad news received by fans who downloaded one of December’s standout PlayStation Plus free games.

While it’s impossible to please everyone who is a PS Plus subscriber to PS4 and PS5 consoles, there are many who are currently enjoying Godfall: Challenger Edition, Lego DC Super-Villains, and Mortal Shell.

But for those who enjoy Mortal Shell, there’s some bad news shared by those who play on PlayStation 5.

In what will become a standard event, those who play Mortal Shell via PS Plus will not be able to upgrade to the next-gen version.

This means that the Mortal Shell on offer is not the Enhanced Edition, even though many subscribers report seeing the artwork for that version on their PlayStation dashboard.

For those who haven’t played it yet, Mortal Shel is a hack n slash title heavily inspired by the Dark Souls series.

And if you’ve ever played and enjoyed the Dark Soul, Mortal Shell is a brilliant pick for December.

Combat can be just as brutal, and there are plenty of ways to die and lose all the progress you’ve made.

The big difference is that you can pick up different Shells (human bodies) to inhabit, with different stats and game variance.

The Enhanced Edition includes all of this and also offers the best version of the game when it comes to performance and graphics.

A message from the Mortal Shell development team provides further details, explaining: “From the moment we got our hands on the PS5, we’ve delved into its power and capabilities to find the best ways to bring Mortal Shell into a new generation. to bring.

“Whether you take your first steps in Fallgrim, or return to face the most vicious and grotesque adversaries, our goal is to increase immersion and make everything feel more vicious than ever.

“That means smooth 60fps gameplay (focused), razor-sharp 4K visuals (upscaled, with 4K-compatible display), improved textures and DualSense controller upgrades that give you a more physical connection to the game.

“We can’t wait to experience the whispers and heartbeat vibrations that resonate with your controller as you approach a new shell, as well as the adaptive trigger feedback when your character takes that final blow and runs out of stamina.

“Fighting a Brigand ranger for the first time? Get a head start in combat when you feel the haptic feedback of projectiles speeding past – and the extra impact if one of those projectiles hits you.”

Mortal Shell will be available for download along with Godfall: Challenger Edition and Lego DC Super-Villains until January 2022, when they will be replaced by new titles.

There are reports that Sony is planning some major changes to its existing PS Plus and PS Now services, and these changes are expected to be announced in the spring of 2022.
