Square Enix announced that: Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline may not release as scheduled on February 26, 2022. The release for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC has been delayed until summer. Should affect few of you, as unfortunately this new offline implementation of the MMORPG isn’t slated for release in the West either.

According to a release from producer Takuma Shiraishi, the release has been delayed to further improve the quality of the game so that Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes appears offline in the best possible condition.

How the offline implementation works in Japan

As is known, an online game is continuously expanded. Therefore, Dragon Quest X Offline will initially appear with the story size of the base game. In the fall of 2022, however, it will continue with a paid expansion. This contains the content of version 2. Version 6 of Dragon Quest X was released in Japan on November 11.

Furthermore, they want to orient themselves with the speech output on the online version, with the combat system, however, they rely on a classic, turn-based system. Dragon Quest X Offline is intended as an easy introduction for fans and is of course also playable offline. This version is completely independent of the MMORPG. Visually, a lot has also changed.
