The previous selection of Melty Blood: Type Lumina is known for being expanded with a total of four new warriors. These should come out over the winter and each should also bring a story and battle arena. Now there’s good news, because the first two character packs will be released for free on January 13.

In addition to the already revealed Dead Apostle Noel, all players can look forward to Aoko Aozaki. Her fighting style is a special mix of magic and martial arts, as the introductory trailer shows. You can also find a detailed gameplay video for Dead Apostle Noel below.

Tsukihime asks for a 2D fight

Melty Blood: Type Lumina is based on the world of Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon, Type-Moon’s visual novel. A remake of this game has been released in Japan. It’s not the first corny blood fighter. Before that, there was Melty Blood: Act Cadenza, which was implemented many years ago first for Arcades and then for PS2.

The story of Melty Blood: Type Lumina was written by Kinoko Nasu, the character design was contributed by Takashi Takeuchi. All playable characters have unique moves and attacks, of course. There are single player modes such as Story, Time Attack and Survival. In survival mode, you have to see how many opponents you can defeat with just one life energy meter.

Melty Blood: Type Lumina was released worldwide on September 30 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC-Steam. Sales in the west are purely digital.
