PS5 Best Accessories – Controllers, Headset, SSD Storage (Image: SONY WESTERN DIGITAL)

The PS5 has been out for over a year now and thankfully the PlayStation 5 is easier to pick up today than when it first launched. While restocks can still sell out quickly, the recent GAME drop where PS5 consoles were available to buy for over a week is hopefully a sign that things will improve as 2022 gets underway. Especially when you consider that in the past PS5 restocks sold out within minutes.

If you’re currently lucky enough to own a PS5, you might be looking for additional accessories to buy, such as extra controllers or a way to get more storage space on your PlayStation 5 console.

Luckily, if you’re struggling to find which accessory is right for you, is here to help. We’ve got details on options to consider, as well as some of the best prices on the market.

PS5 Accessories – Best Controllers

The PS5 DualSense controller is one of the most exciting things about the PlayStation 5.

Sony’s latest joypad is packed with revolutionary features like haptic feedback (which is a generational leap for rumble technology) and adaptive triggers, which change the voltage in the triggers to replicate the feel of things like recoil in a pistol and the tension should draw a bow and arrow.

Since the launch of the PS5, Sony has slowly expanded the DualSense range with the release of several colors. The latest PS5 controller colors are nova pink, starlight blue and galactic purple.

These PS5 controllers cost £64.99 and are available from January 14, 2022 and can be pre-ordered today.

This trio of new color schemes joins the cosmic red, midnight black and standard white models available now.

If you don’t care about the colors and prefer to save as much money as possible, go for a white or black controller.

At ShopTo you can either use the white DualSense or black DualSense for £56.85. The white and black DualSense controllers have a suggested retail price of £59.99.

In addition to new DualSense colors, Sony will also launch a range of PlayStation console covers in 2022 that will change the look of your PS5.

The standard white plates that the console comes with can be easily removed and replaced with covers to match the various DualSense colors.

So you can get midnight black, cosmic red, nova pink, starlight blue, and galactic purple covers.

Exact release dates have not yet been announced, but midnight black and cosmic red covers will launch in January 2022 for regions including the UK, with the remaining covers launching in the first half of 2022.

PS5 Accessories – Best Headset

There are plenty of headsets to choose from for your PS5, from leading third-party names like Razer, SteelSeries, and Logitech.

But you might want to go for Sony’s very own Pulse 3D headset. As the name suggests, this first-party headset delivers 3D audio powered by the PS5’s Tempest technology.

Sony describes what this sounds like, saying that the Pulse 3D headset “will put you right in the middle of incredibly immersive soundscapes where it feels like the sound is coming from all directions”.

The Pulse 3D headset costs £89.99 and is available in white or midnight black. But if you look around you can get it cheaper – ShopTo has a money-saving deal on the headset at the time of writing.

PS5 Accessories – Best Storage

The PS5 comes standard with an 825GB SSD installed, but once you factor in the essential system files installed on the console, you’ll have 667.2GB of usable storage instead.

Fortunately, however, Sony gives you the option to purchase an additional internal SSD that you can fit onto your PS5.

Given the blazing-fast speeds Sony needs to deliver next-generation experiences on the PS5, there are only specific hard drives that you can use.
