As is well known, China is a PC market and there are many reasons for this. One, of course, is that for years, due to regulations, consoles simply didn’t stand a chance.

The Nintendo Switch has also been available in China since December 2019, a certain tech giant called Tencent had released the console in China together with Nintendo. Switch’s digital store is region-specific in China.

Despite the huge market, the console had only sold one million units in China by January 2021. These figures, about a year old, are the latest who are present. Compared to markets like Japan, the Switch has sold over 22 million units here, so it’s pretty manageable.

On January 11, 2022, Nintendo will now also release the OLED model in China, according to Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad reported. The multiple approvals for this have since been granted. Ahmad is quick to mention the only three months between international publication and publication in China.

Despite everything, according to Ahmad, the Nintendo Switch is still the “fastest-selling console”, both “by official numbers and by unreported figures”, because of course there are also some imports. The Xbox series has been in China since June 2021 available. The PlayStation 5 will arrive in China in May 2021 popped up.
