Nintendo Directs are important events for Switch gamers as they provide the best source of news about what’s coming next to the handheld console.

So finding out when the next live stream will be hosted is a big deal for those hoping to find out this year’s big plans.

Highlights include a new Mario Kart game and footage from Zelda Breath of the Wild 2, which is expected to release sometime in 2022.

And the good news is that the first reveal of 2022 could be in a few weeks for those eager to learn more about the next Nintendo Switch games.

A well-known Nintendo insider has shared information suggesting that the first Nintendo Direct of 2022 will take place before February 17, and that something could even drop later this month.

However, Samus Hunters on Twitter also points out that there is still a lot of news to share before we get the full picture.

The full Samus Hunter leak reads: “I know there are a lot of people eager to know when the next Nintendo Direct is scheduled. Well, I’m hearing some announced announcements and a game launch window now that I’m confident I can say it should arrive right before last February.

“In the coming days I will go into more detail to explain some announcements and motivations, but I do not rule out the possibility that it could also arrive in January.

“There are announcements that are usually scheduled two months before launch, which fall at the end of March.

“I see several articles going around about lineups for Nintendo this year, there are games that I don’t see mentioned or titles that come out later. It has now been confirmed by the news outlet that there will be Legends previews this week, as I mentioned yesterday.

As mentioned above, one of the biggest games arriving on Nintendo Switch this year is Zelda Breath of the Wild 2, which could boost Switch sales even further.

As the name suggests, the next Link adventure will be a direct sequel to the best-selling hit that helped cement the Switch’s place in the current gaming landscape.

Nintendo has left fans guessing about the upcoming sequel and revealed very little about how the game will differ from the original Breath of the Wild.

At the time of writing, fans don’t even know the game’s official title, with the Nintendo website listing it as “The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”.

This could be one of the first things we learn about the new Zelda game, though it’s unclear if Nintendo will wait until closer to the release date to share the big details.
