Showa American Story shows a post-apocalyptic America bought by Japan

Publisher 2P Games and developer NEKCOM Games have the action RPG Showa American Story announced for PS4, PS5 and PC-Steam. The game from the Chinese studio from Wuhan in China is known so far from Dying: Reborn. The new Showa American Story was previously teased as Project SAS.

With Showa American Story, they want to create a brand new RPG that should be a “love letter to 80s pop culture”, including a “strong B-movie aftertaste”. You follow Choko’s journey across North America in search of truth and revenge.

Set in Showa 66, the fictional story depicts a post-apocalyptic America largely bought up by the world’s strongest economic power. Japan, not China. The wave of immigration from Japan has entrenched Japanese culture in America. This can also be seen in the first trailer.

This amalgamation creates conflict, but soon people get into other problems. A mysterious incident changes the world. A young girl awakens from the dead to find answers in this post-apocalyptic world of monsters and zombies.

The first trailer also shows you all kinds of gameplay, mostly based on simple zombie action. There also seem to be some mini-games that you can use to pass the day.

There is no release date yet.
