Horror game Ikai will be released in March for PCs and consoles

The psychological horror game Ikai by publishers PM Studios and Endflame finally has a concrete release date. Ikai is scheduled to bring “gloomy Japanese folklore” to PCs, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch on March 29, 2022.

A retail version is available in North America from select retailers, including VideoGamePlus, for $34.99. It is not known whether this will also find its way to Europe.

A playable demo is on Steam already available.

Your only defense: kanji

Your only defense against the demons in the horror game is the ability to repel them with mystical kanji. Fortunately, you don’t need to be able to speak Japanese.

Ikai aims to embody the classic first-person horror genre, with a defenseless protagonist unable to attack her opponents by “traditional” means. That means no weapons, no swords. Instead, you have to face yourself. Neither flee nor attack.
