Major Xbox Game Pass Update Adds Huge Xbox Series X Downloads

Microsoft has confirmed that several major games will be coming to Xbox Game Pass this week.

This is good news for fans of the subscription, as there have already been some major departures this month, including Kingdom Hearts 3.

But now fans have discovered that Hitman 3 arrives on Xbox Game Pass the same day Rainbow Six Extraction makes its first debut.

And not only will the latest Hitman experience be available to download and play across Xbox Series X and Xbox One, but so will Hitman 1 & 2.

Developers IO Interactive announced its big plans earlier this month, confirming their intention to launch a new Hitman Trilogy on Xbox and PC platforms.

A post shared via YouTube about the launch adds: “If you’re brand new to the world of assassination, we’re making it easier than ever to get started and play the entire campaign in one package.

“The Hitman trilogy includes Hitman 1, Hitman 2 and Hitman 3, giving you everything you need to jump straight into the world of assassination. And when Year 2 launches on January 20, the Hitman trilogy will be available through the Xbox Game Pass catalog for both console and PC.”

“HITMAN 3 arrives on Steam to coincide with the start of Year 2 and will have full support for PC VR and all the technical improvements we mentioned earlier, such as Ray Tracing, XeSS and Variable Rate Shading.

“We are also working on support for Steam Achievements and Trading Cards – plus we will be adding the Trinity Pack (the HITMAN 3 pre-order bonus) to all editions of HITMAN 3 for free for the first 30 days.

“The HITMAN Trilogy will be available on January 20 with Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate, giving you everything you need to jump straight into the World of Assassination. We are excited to welcome a wave of new players to enjoy the full trilogy across new platforms and services.”

As mentioned above, January 20th is also the same day that the Year 2 expansion will launch in-game, adding brand new ways to enjoy the game.

This includes the new Elusive Target Arcade and Freelancer Missions, both of which will be available to play this year.

The first to go live is the Arcade, where with each Arcade contract you’ll be tasked with taking out consecutive Elusive Targets, one contract after another. Each must be completed in order to progress to the next – and additional complications have been added to the contract as well.

If at any time you fail an Arcade contract, there will be a 12-hour lockout before you can try the contract again from the beginning. This exclusion allows us to maintain the high-stakes gameplay that characterizes Elusive Targets, while also giving players a clear indication of when they’ll be able to play a particular Elusive Target again.

Freelancer missions will be added in Spring 2022, promising to introduce roguelike elements, strategic planning, and a customizable safehouse.

No end date has been added to the new Hitman Trilogy on Xbox Game Pass, so everyone should get a chance to play the new missions later this year.
