Square Enix has the new cross-media project settle life announced. The new brand will initially consist of an anime, a smartphone game and a movie and was conceived by director Gorou Taniguchi (Code Geass).

Estab Life (Establishment Life) is set in the distant future. The world’s population has peaked and is beginning to shrink again. Humanity has developed artificial intelligence that manages the ecosystem and has conducted “Humanity Diversification Experiments” for the prosperity of their species.

Different races – humans, beasts and demons created by genetic engineering – have created different cities known as “clusters” protected by walls.

There are many clusters, each with its own culture and people. And so that they don’t get lost, they live under the constant surveillance of artificial intelligence.

A first trailer introduces you to the project.
