Square Enix bridges time until the sequel of Final Fantasy VII Remake on the Japanese Twitter account with beautiful works of art and interesting facts. This time is about mako energy.

In the original Final Fantasy VII, Midgar was told very little about what Mako actually is and what role he plays. Also visually Mako was barely present. In Final Fantasy VII Remake, they wanted to change that.

One of the most important objects is the Mako Cylinder, which you keep coming across. It is intended to visualize how important the delivery of Mako energy is to sustaining life. If you want to look at it from a purely energy policy perspective.

“We came up with this design to show how much the people of Midgar depend on the Mako energy. I hope it has helped them to have a more vivid picture of their daily lives,” explains Mizushi Sugawara Final Fantasy VII Remake Material Ultimania

The Mako cylinders are a simple and commonly used way to bring Mako Energy where it is needed. They are reminiscent of gas cylinders and of course have the same purpose. Especially in areas where no direct connection to the reactor network is possible, many Mako cylinders are seen.

Unlike our conventional gas cylinders, Mako cylinders also have an indicator that shows how full the cylinder is. When it goes out, the Mako cylinder is empty. The Mako energy can be transferred to the home network with a hose.

Do you want more artworks and facts? So far, Square Enix has covered the restrooms at Shinra’s headquarters, the taste of Chocobo popcorn, and the cost of a LOVELESS ticket, among other things. It also has a legendary boss dedicated to it, just like Tifa and her shorts.
