Quit Electronic Arts and Codemasters F1 22 for PlayStation and Xbox. A trailer also gets us in the mood for this year’s Formula 1 version.

A revised set of rules provides variety, making the race weekend a thrilling experience, which now includes F1 sprint races. The more competitive and unpredictable lineup offers players new challenges throughout the year, including the Miami International Autodrome track, designed especially for the Miami Grand Prix in 2022. Another novelty and an even deeper immersion in the world of Formula 1 offers “F1 Life”, a customizable hub where players can view their collection of supercars, clothing and accessories. These can be unlocked through gameplay, the Podium Pass, and the ingame Brand Store. Fans can preorder the Champions Edition now, which offers Early Access (three days before release) and a limitedtime Miamiinspired content pack.

“We look forward to welcoming our players to the new world of Formula 1,” said Lee Mather, F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters. “In addition to the real changes, we have also updated the driving physics to take into account the new aero rules and revised the tire model to make the handling even more realistic. With new and revamped tracks, Adaptive AI, F1 Life and expanded gameplay options, there has never been a better time for players to get behind the wheel and experience the life of an F1 driver.”

The redefined race day gives players the opportunity to personalize their setup with new options: safety car duration, pit stop options and different formation laps. Two modes are available for this: In the “Immersive” mode, players face risky challenges that can make the difference between a podium finish or an outofpoints place. The “Broadcast” mode, on the other hand, provides a more relaxed immersion into the game world, where controlled, authentic cutscenes lead into the action at the end of the game. The new PC VR function via Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, which puts you directly in the cockpit, provides the ultimate F1 experience.

The new Adaptive AI makes it possible for new and casual players to have exciting races despite less experience, as the AI controlled opponents are adapted to their own skill level. Easytouse menu navigation and controls allow quick access to the action even without indepth racing knowledge. The revised practice programs offer more variety with new point systems and ontrack visualizations. This allows fans to take every turn perfectly and then compete for the important championship points.

F1 22 also offers familiar features in a new overhaul, including My Team, which allows players to set their starting budget based on three entry points: Newcomer, Challenger, and Frontrunner. Real route updates from Australia, Spain and Abu Dhabi have also been implemented to reflect the latest changes in the game. F1 22 also includes the tenyear career, complete with a twoplayer option, and brings back multiplayer to enable epic races within the global racing community.

F1 22 comes out on July 1.
