Chrono Cross was originally released for PlayStation in 1999 and it is the game’s only release to date. First Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition brought the RPG classic not only to Europe for the first time, but also to modern platforms in general.
If you still want to enjoy such classics, you often pay the corresponding price on Ebay. That doesn’t have to be the case, director Masato Kato thought. On Twitter, the development team is answering fan questions about the remaster.
A fan asked what inspired Square Enix to free Radical Dreamers from the purgatory of Satellaview. “It’s been more than 20 years since Radical Dreamers -Le Trésor Interdit- was first released,” Kato rightly notes.
And, “Apparently Radical Dreamers was selling for insane prices. This time, when I was approached about transferring the game, I thought, ‘Okay, wait a minute,'” Kato recalled. The remaster should also serve to push down the insane used prices.
Cheers, that’s obviously a resolution that many video game fans and collectors applaud. Learn more about Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition in our interview with producer Kouichirou Sakamoto!
