Did you think Square Enix’s Magitek Terra figure was absurdly expensive at just over $10,000? Then you don’t know the life-sized Sophie figure from Atelier Sophie 2 yet. Parco’s figure is made to order for a price of 4,290,000 yen. These are unbeatable, around 31,600 euros.
There is even a limited version of the figure that is even more expensive. The 6,050,000 yen statue poses in front of a more elaborate ruin backdrop. This statue is only made once and the overjoyed and equally wealthy buyer is bought by Park drawn.
The life-size Sophie will only be available in Japan and Asia. For the West there is a relatively cheap alternative. The 1/7-scale Sophie figure costs only 23,980 yen, which is about 176 euros. Bargain.
Pre-order for all the above figures starts on April 27, 2022 and will last until July 18, 2022. It is not the first life-size figure from the Atelier series, by the way. In 2020 there was already a Ryza figure in 1:1 scale for about 25,000 euros.
Somehow you wonder which people are representing the market for such expensive numbers. But since there are such expensive figures time and time again, there must also be the people who buy them. Or?
