American billionaire Elon Musk said Twitter will remain free for ordinary users, but may charge a small fee for commercial and government use.

Musk is looking to increase the number of users of the popular social networking platform in the United States.

“Twitter will always be free for regular users, but it may charge a small fee for commercial and government use,” Musk said in a tweet early Wednesday morning.

Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters.

Since last month, Musk has been talking about a number of tweaks to Twitter, and following his recent takeover of the company, Musk has said he wants to improve the platform and add new elements.
