Okay, somehow hardly anyone could believe that was possible after all. starfield will no longer appear in 2022. In a post on Twitter, Bethesda announced today that Starfield (as well as Redfall, for that matter) is now slated for the first half of 2023.

Xbox loses a major driving force in the Christmas business. Starfield was previously scheduled for a November 11, 2022 release. In the latest developer videos, the creators have communicated their vision often enough, but not shown any gameplay. Redfall was not dated.

“The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to make sure you get the best, most polished versions of them,” the statement read.

“We want to thank everyone for their enthusiasm for Redfall and Starfield. That energy is a big part of what inspires us all every day and fuels our own excitement about what we are creating,” said Bethesda.

And then there’s another promise: “We can’t wait to share our first look at Redfall and Starfield gameplay soon.”
