Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has launched a new cloud-based business interface for its other major social platform, WhatsApp. “This service accelerates the response times of companies to their customers,” says Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of the company.

This interface provides companies with an easy way to synchronize WhatsApp with the rest of the customer service structure, so that data and interactions can be managed more easily in the application. This new API means that any business will be able to create a business dashboard on the application.

At the recent Meta conference, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said: “This step means that his company makes WhatsApp open to any business around the world and of any size, through its cloud (API), with the aim of helping companies to speed up their customer response times, and the first 1000 messages you send using the interface will be free. Reports suggest that there will be payment levels and commissions that depend on the number of customers you speak to per day, as well as the whether conversations are initiated by employees or customers.
