Developer Nightdive Studios and publisher Prime Matter recently released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming remake of the FPS classic system shock:†
The trailer is titled “From SHODAN with Hate” and aims to showcase just how crazy and unpredictable the menacing AI dubbed “Shodan” really is. System Shock Remake is slated for release in 2022 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
A pioneer of the cyberpunk genre
Originally released for PCs in 1994, System Shock is still considered an absolute classic among shooter fans. Developed by American developer Looking Glass Studios, the original is one of the pioneers of the cyberpunk genre in gaming.
On an abandoned space station, players must survive in a hostile environment and defeat SHODAN (Sentient Hyper-Optimized Data Access Network), an evil AI bent on destroying humanity. The new System Shock is a complete remake of the groundbreaking 1994 original, combining the core gameplay you love with all-new HD graphics, updated controls, a revamped user interface, and reworked sounds and music.
