Square Enix announced that: Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline will be released in Japan on September 15 for PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and Steam. The new offline implementation of the MMORPG was initially scheduled for February, but had to be postponed. A release in the West is still not planned.

This is how the offline implementation in Japan works

As is known, an online game is continuously expanded. Therefore, Dragon Quest X Offline will initially appear with the story size of the base game. The first paid expansion with the contents of The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally is planned for spring 2023. By the way, version 6 of Dragon Quest X was released in Japan on November 11, 2021.

Furthermore, the voice output should be based on the online version while the combat system is based on a classic turn-based system. Dragon Quest X Offline is meant to give fans an easy start and can of course be played offline as well. This version is completely independent of the MMORPG. Visually, things have also changed.
