Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival start date is fixed

Good news for music game lovers: Bandai Namco has confirmed the release date for Taiko no Tatsukin: Rhythm Festival on the Switch the drumming starts on October 14.

And as the press release reveals, not only will there be a boxed version, but the fun drum accessories will be back in stores as well:

Bandai Namco Europe announces that: TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVALthe new game of TAIKO NO TATSUJINseries, coming to Nintendo Switch on October 14.

Preorders for the game are now available. Two different editions are available:

  • The standard edition
  • The Taiko Drum Set Edition, which includes the standard edition of the game and the drums

A digital deluxe edition will be available at a later date, including the standard edition with 90 days access to the Taiko Music Pass.

Players can improve their drumming skills with the 76 songs available in the game. In addition to the songs available in Taiko mode, Story mode takes players on the journey to become a drum master alongside DONChan and KumoKyun. They can also show off their skills in online battles or team up with friends in party mode. “Don Coins” are earned across the different modes and allow players to purchase items such as costumes or nameplates to personalize their appearance.

That TAIKO NO TATSUJINfranchise that began in 2001 has spawned countless titles and songs throughout its more than 20year history. TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVAL will be the first title to offer the Taiko Music Pass, along with seven days of free access. With the Taiko Music Pass, players have access to a catalog of over 500 songs with monthly updates. More details can be found on the official website.

Players with saved data from TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: DRUM N FUN get three bonus songs and some customization items.

In addition, there are several episodes of Taiko no Tatsujin: The Anime now available on youtube. The anime series follows Kotaro and his friends on their journey to become a taiko master, with the help of DONChan and other characters from the TAIKO NO TATSUJINQueue.
