F1 22 - Drivers Review Video

Codemasters and Electronic Arts, in collaboration with Formula 1, created the driver ratings for F1 22 issued. Filmed in Baku and Canada with the 2022 driver lineup, the teammates gathered to guess the score with cameras capturing every moment, including the unveiling. The dynamic ratings in the game’s My Team mode are updated every few races and reflect the action and drama on and off the track. There is a video about it here to see.

For the first time, Codemasters has changed the algorithm so that stats better reflect a driver’s current form and are less dependent on his past. Formula 1 experts Anthony Davidson, David Croft and Alex Jacques have also worked with the studio to move beyond just data and separate man and machine. The ratings from the starting day are compiled up to and including this year’s FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX DE MONACO 2022. The dynamic ratings are divided into four categories in addition to a general rating:

  • Experience (EXP): This is based on the number of race starts a driver has completed over the course of his career.
  • Racing Skill (RAC): The driver’s ability to work through the field and finish the race higher than the starting position.
  • Awareness (AWA): The less time drivers spend in the flight attendant’s room, the better. Realworld penalties affect the score in this category.
  • Pace (PAC): Prefers those closest to the fastest qualifying and race lap times. A driver who beats his teammate is also counted.
  • Rating (RTG): The combination of the four previous ratings. This overall rating increases and decreases over the season based on performance.

“Our dynamic Driver Ratings have become a staple of other EA SPORTS titles and continue to evoke driver emotion and it’s great to see the camaraderie and chatter between teammates,” said Paul Jeal, F1 Senior Franchise Director at Codemasters. “Our new panel of F1 experts will work closely with us to ensure that F1 22 reflects what is happening on track and we know the updates will cause even more discussion as the season progresses.”

the F1 22 Driver ratings are an important part of My Team. New for 2022, it now features three starting positions: Newcomer, Midway Challenger, and Championship Contender, allowing players to choose to work your way up from the bottom or fight straight to victory.

F1 22 Coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on July 1.
