After the pretty obvious teaser from a few days ago, Dragami Games has now announced that Lollipop Chainsaw is actually “back”. And in the form of a complete remake, which is scheduled for 2023. Platforms have not yet been announced.

Development is led by the producer of the original, Yoshimi Yasuda. It also features some developers from the original as well as new developers from Dragami Games.

The remake aims to replicate the original but will also have some key differences. There should be a “more realistic approach” to the graphics as the new hardware has more power. However, there are problems with the music. Due to licensing issues, there will be new music aside from a few tracks from the original.

Lollipop Chainsaw was originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012 and has sold approximately one million copies worldwide. Incidentally, Suda 51 and James Gunn were involved in the match.
