With the current edition of the famitsu the editors again allowed Tetsuya Nomura and Yoshinori Kitase Final Fantasy VII Rebirth consult. It was mainly after the announcement of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion also about remakes of other parts of the compilation.
The Famitsu points out to Tetsuya Nomura that Weiss and Nero were already present in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and therefore asks if both may be allowed another appearance.
“Our staff originally wanted to remaster Dirge of Cerberus and Before Crisis, but given the cost of doing that, we have no plans at the moment,” said Tetsuya Nomura.
“We wanted her [Weiss und Nero] appear in FF7R INTERGRADE because we wanted all FF7 titles to be connected to a common world. They also acted as very scary bosses, so that’s why we decided to do that,” explains Nomura about the performance of the two.
So the odds? Very bad at the moment. But who knows, if the Crisis Core remaster is a success, there might still be something possible. It would be desirable. Dirge of Cerberus still “trapped” on PlayStation 2, there are no ports for more modern platforms.
It sure looks worse Before the Crisis: Final Fantasy VII from. The action RPG that originally launched in Japan for mobile has never been localized. Set six years before Final Fantasy VII, Before Crisis focuses on the Turks and their battle against Avalanche.
And yet we will at least see the content of both games soon. Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, the upcoming mobile game, will span the entire compilation. In addition, it offers a basically old-fashioned, but still popular among fans, command-based combat system.
