A powerful force

This year’s release is another chance to recreate Resident Evil’s history in the Dead in daylight Expand the universe and deepen the backstories of a new villain and two heroes.

The unpredictable Ada Wong is a mystery; her real purpose is as elusive as she is. Her survival skills nevertheless make her a valuable ally but only if their interests align. Rebecca Chambers is a talented and gifted young woman who joined the STARS Bravo team as a medic at the age of 18. An asset to any mission, Rebecca will do anything to save a teammate in distress, even if it means risking her own life.

Anyone who prefers to be a murderer can look forward to the embodiment of Resident Evil’s very own Albert Wesker. A visionary, as brilliant as he is ruthless, he was a senior official at the Umbrella Corporation who harbored greater ambitions for his own kind. Believing that humanity is at an impasse, he injected himself with the prototype virus to transcend the limits of mortality. Endowed with superhuman strength and a desire to wipe out the weak, he created a powerful virus weapon: Uroboros. Wesker’s infectious dive allows him to charge forward at high speed to grab survivors and infect them with the Uroboros. These can help themselves with First Aid Spray, which is scattered across the map albeit in a limited supply and only delaying the inevitable.

“The Resident Evil franchise has spawned a myriad of acclaimed characters over the past quarter of a century, with every fan having a favorite. By being able to step into the shoes of the nefarious Wesker or protagonists Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers, we can spoil our players while simultaneously enhancing the experience of Dead in daylight to the next level,” explains Dave Richard, Creative Director Dead in daylight.

“The Capcom team is delighted to be back with us Dead in daylight to work together to expand the Resident Evil story,” the publisher explained in an official statement. “It’s a proud moment to unite the many iterations of iconic Resident Evil characters like Albert Wesker and see them stand up for themselves in a new universe. Merging two iconic horror universes isn’t easy, but the result is beautiful and we hope fans will enjoy it.”

Raccoon City Police Station Remastered

In addition to being able to step into the role of these iconic characters, the upgraded Raccoon City Police Station map also allows players to relive the quintessential Resident Evil experience. Introduced in 2021, the map has undergone a full Quality of Life update based on community feedback.

In the future, the Raccoon City Police Station will be split into two separate maps, built around the west and east wing, making it significantly smaller. The Great Hall has been kept in its original layout on both maps. With extra access to the outside of the front, it will be easier to take the action outside. Each version of the map also has a different layout of the rooms. In the west wing, players will find the STARS office, darkroom and archive rooms, among other things. The east wing houses the boss’s office, art room, roof terrace and much more. The twostory layout is retained, but navigation becomes easier than before. New entrances were created, many corridors were widened and some superfluous rooms were removed including the infamous second floor of the library.
