Almost three years ago, THQ Nordic had a playable demo for a remake of the classic from scratch Gothic published on Steam. Anyone who had a Piranha Bytes game on Steam could download the demo. At the end of the prototype, players could then answer a questionnaire that determined how the remake was received by fans.
The feedback was very one-sided and positive. There were also requests for changes, especially the game world should be much darker. But the fans wanted a gothic remake. THQ Nordic then announced that this should be implemented.
The creation of the studio was announced in March 2021 Alkimia Interactive known, which is at home in Barcelona and was founded already in the summer of 2020. According to THQ Nordic, a team of “passionate RPG developers” has been working there ever since. Today, the Gothic remake is finally back.
A new trailer was presented at the THQ Nordic Showcase. The remake is being developed for PCs, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. There seems to be a commercial version for at least PS5, because it is already available for pre-order*.
Back to the colony! The remake of the most famous German role-playing game of all time is currently being developed by developer Alikima Interactive for PC, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series S/X. The new trailer takes you on a journey to the depths of the old mine. Are you ready to face the horrors that lurk in the dark?
