In a new episode of Final Fantasy VII Remake Revisited, the creators behind the remake talk about the design and decision-making process, including the integration of Cait Sith into Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Cait Sith’s appearance in Final Fantasy VII Remake is – like so many things – probably fan service. Cait Sith clearly shows up completely prematurely, in the original only celebrating its debut in Gold Saucer. Show that the surprise in the remake succeeded different streamer reactions on Cait Sith.

There is no background or explanation from Cait Sith in the remake. Conclusions are based solely on what fans know about the original. Cait Sith appears to be deeply shocked by the destruction of the disc – in keeping with the original script.

Motomu Toriyama is asked in “Revisited” if there were concerns that Cait Sith’s early appearance would cause confusion for players who haven’t played the original. But Cait Sith also serves a purpose for “newcomers”.

Whether we will see Cait Sith again in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is of course the question. But as of this week, we know that we’ll be seeing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth again soon. Square Enix will bring it to the Tokyo Game Show.
