The Internet is full of gameplay videos and screenshots of “GTA 6” after a huge leak

Rockstar Games’ upcoming GTA 6 has had a major leak, which could be one of the biggest gaming surprises of all time. The leak showed footage of an early build of the game and a lot of unfinished gameplay. This new leak seems to confirm some of the already rumored things, but it also takes away all the surprises the developers had planned for players. Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the world’s most talked-about and anticipated games. People have been guessing about the story, characters, and release date for a long time, even before the game’s existence was confirmed.

Rockstar Games has been very secretive about the whole project, and until recently we didn’t know or see much about the game. That’s all changed now, though, thanks to more than 90 videos and screenshots that showed up on GTA Forums. Recently, a user named “teapotuberhacker” uploaded a lot of GTA 6 footage to the forum. This user said that the footage was from a test build of Grand Theft Auto 6, which was running with “GTA 5 and 6 source code and assets.”

The leaked screenshots and video footage have already taken over YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and other social media sites. They match up with some information that has already been leaked about GTA 6, like the fact that the game has multiple playable characters, including a female main character, and that the setting seems to be a Miami-like version of Vice City. The leaked clips and photos are real, according to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, who said, “Not that there was much doubt, but I’ve confirmed with Rockstar sources that this weekend’s huge Grand Theft Auto VI leak is indeed real. The footage is obviously old and not finished. This is one of the worst leaks in the history of video games, and it’s a nightmare for Rockstar Games.

Even though several sources said the videos were real, opinions on the internet were split on whether or not they were real. But the real confirmation came just a few days later when Rockstar Games took to Twitter to share its disappointment with the news.

Rockstar Games said on Twitter, “We recently had a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early footage of the next Grand Theft Auto.” “At this time, we don’t expect any problems with our live game services or long-term changes to how our ongoing projects are done.”

“We are very upset that any information about our next game has been leaked this way. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will go as planned, and we’re still as committed as ever to giving you, our players, an experience that goes above and beyond what you expect. We’ll let everyone know again soon, and when this next game is ready, we’ll show you how it works. We want to thank everyone for all the help they have given us through this.”

In one of the leaked videos, a playable character named Lucia can be seen robbing a restaurant and taking NPCs as prisoners. Since the footage is from an early version of the game, there are a lot of placeholder texts like “Time until cops are sent” and “Jason: GENERIC CURSE TO SELF” in the dialogue. In another video, we see a playable character on the “Vice City Metro” train, confirming that the game will take place in a made-up version of Miami. In another clip, people talking by the pool say, “Oh, yeah, he’s dead, isn’t he?” Just like there is a country called Finland.” Other clips show gunplay and running away from the police in Vice City.

Take-Two Interactive has already started filing takedown requests for many GTA 6 videos on YouTube. Many of these videos now say, “This video is no longer available because Take-Two Interactive claims to copyright.” But there are a few that are still online.

All the leaked videos and pictures are clearly from an alpha build of the game, which seems to be an unfinished version of the game that the developers used to test some parts. Even though we don’t know how old this footage is or how far Rockstar is in the making GTA 6, it probably won’t come out until late 2024 or early 2025 at the earliest. But these newly leaked videos and screenshots confirm many things about the game’s setting and characters.
