The servers for Overwatch 2 will go live on October 4th, just a few days before the game comes out. In the process, the original Overwatch will be replaced entirely, and everyone will be able to play for free. We got a new trailer that shows both new and old heroes doing what they do best.

Many things about Overwatch will stay the same, but there are a few significant changes. The change from 6v6 to 5v5 will likely have the biggest effect on the competitive meta. Another change is that new heroes like Kiriko have been added, bringing the total number of playable characters to 35. There will be a total of 22 global maps in 6 different game modes, and more content is already in the works. If there are no technical problems or server problems on the big day, Overwatch fans will eat well next week.
