Samsung is currently testing the third beta version of One UI 5.0 on the Galaxy S22. But Verizon says on its website that it has already given the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra the stable Android 13 update. The carrier even released a full changelog for One UI 5.0 and pictures of some new features. But has the update really been released?
Well, a Reddit user was able to download the update with the firmware version S90xUSQS2AVI1, which is what Verizon’s website said. But it’s not One UI 5.0, which Verizon said was based on Android 13. The October 2022 security patch, which Samsung just put out today, is also mentioned in the changelog on the carrier’s website. We know that Samsung is testing Android 13 on its high-end phones, but they haven’t released a stable version yet.
So, it’s possible that Verizon accidentally put out the wrong changelog. This could also mean that the next major Android OS update for Samsung phones could come out earlier than usual. The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 stable update for the Galaxy S22 series could be released by the company sometime next month.
Samsung has also tested Android 13 on the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, and Galaxy A52. In a few months, these phones could get the stable Android 13 update.
