Google launched Stadia in November 2019 to revolutionize the gaming world. It soon became clear that this was not working as well as Google had hoped and many feared. Now Google is giving up the venture and ending the Stadia project on January 18, 2023.
Extended Refunds
The streaming service failed and that cost Google a lot. All hardware purchases through the Google Store and software purchases through Stadia will be refunded until mid-January. Phil Harrison, vice president and general manager at Stadia, then freely admit itthat the necessary reach among users was not achieved. Now they want to continue making the technologies available to industry partners, including for gaming.
