Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, stated during the most recent earnings call that the company’s “product lineup is set” ahead of the holidays, possibly indicating that no new products will be released this year as Apple prepares for the holiday season. “We have a very challenging compare against last year, which had the benefit of the launch and associated channel fill of our newly redesigned MacBook Pro with M1,” Apple’s CFO, Luca Maestri, stated more conclusively, according to Gurman today in Power On.

Apple is still testing an Apple silicon Mac Pro with 24 CPU cores (including 16 performance and eight efficiency cores), 76 graphics cores, and 192GB of memory. The “M2 Ultra” and “M2 Extreme” chips, which are expected to be revealed alongside the updated MacBook Pros next year, will reportedly have at least twice as much performance as the M2 Max chip.
