Square Enix announced this on the sidelines of this weekend’s NieR Festival NieR: Automata has now sold over 7 million copies worldwide. The good news was also presented on a truck. It had initially sparked speculation with a black cover.

NieR: Automata has increased the number by exactly one million since June 2021. At that time sales of six million copies were announced. The recently released Switch version should have provided a boost. The upcoming anime will also attract attention.

Square Enix also announced that NieR Replicant version 1.22474487139… has now sold 1.5 million copies worldwide. The remaster broke the million mark after two months and another 500,000 units have been added since June 2021.

NieR has long outgrown its niche. However, this weekend’s NieR Festival took place without an exciting new announcement. It should only be a matter of time before NieR continues one way or another. Or what do you mean?
