D3 publisher and developer Shade announces first global sales numbers Samurai virgin announced. The action game with a focus on sword fighting is already coming more than 50,000 copies sold. That’s not surprising for such a niche title. Physical sales in Japan are at least a small part of that.
The main role is taken by high school student Tsumugi Tamaori, who is transported to the Sengoku period. There she must team up with new friends and prove her sword skills against an undead threat. At her side is none other than Nobunaga Oda. Also playable are Iyo, a ninja, Hagane, a mechanical ninja, and Komimi, who is described as a genius.
Tsumugi can combine her skills with her three companions in battle. When special conditions are met, a kiss can unleash special attacks.
Samurai Maiden was released in the west on December 8 for PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. It was Japan’s turn a week earlier and unlike the West, it received a physical release. Developer is Shade (Bullet Girls, Kandagawa Jet Girls, Gun Gun Pixies).
