An updated job listing implies that a future Respawn Star Wars game might include multiplayer. A new Star Wars first-person shooter game is being developed by the firm that brought you Titanfall, Apex Legends, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. As game production picked up, job postings began to surface.
The “Star Wars FPS team” of the firm is mentioned specifically in the job posting for a Senior Gameplay Software Engineer. One line stands out even if the posting is typical for a developer. It is expressly stated that the new employee has expertise working on a multiplayer game in the “Desired Qualifications” section.
That raises the possibility that multiplayer will be present in the game, even though it is not a guarantee that it will be.
What Is The Latest Star Wars Respawn Game?
The Star Wars first-person shooter, which was first announced in 2022, was described as being more of a single-player game. Nevertheless, multiplayer elements might include both PvP and PvE modes, either at launch or through a post-release update. Unreal Engine 5 is also being used to create the game.
When it was first revealed, Peter Hirschmann, game director at Respawn, said, “Working with Lucasfilm Games on a new FPS in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true for me, as this is a narrative I have always wanted to tell.”
It’s unlikely that we’ll learn more about the first-person shooter very soon because Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the Respawn game that is currently the closest to release. However, the Star Wars franchise is still moving forward.
