The name of the brand-new Resurgence map that will be included in the game when Season Two launches on February 15th was revealed in a brief teaser on Twitter by the Call of Duty channel. This small-form map, dubbed “Ashika Island,” was created for respawn-driven gameplay, and it appears to be a Japanese island, as was foreseen months ago.
The announcement will take place tomorrow, but Activision has already given away Ashika Island’s name and a general map idea. Although it doesn’t imply anything, it approximately translates to “sea lion” in English. Or does it?
Return of Resurgence
It is believed that Ashika Island would bring Warzone 2 back to its former glory. There are great hopes that a respawn mode will help reignite the flame that has recently seen many players leave the platform.

Infinity Ward has been adjusting to DMZ and the battle royale platform over the past few weeks to close loopholes and restore the game to a playable state. Players are dissatisfied, disillusioned, and leaving Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2 just a few months after their respective launches.
Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep later increased content creation and streaming stats from the previous year. Caldera came dangerously close to destroying Call of Duty Warzone, but the respawn maps saved it at least until Warzone 2 was launched.
Players are anxious to return to Resurgence mode on a compact, action-packed map, and Ashika Island will provide that opportunity. Season Two will launch on February 15th.
