An update has recently been rolled out for Stationeers, bringing various changes and improvements. Below are the details of the game update. Stationeers is now accessible on all platforms, with varying file sizes based on the platform.
Revamped Trader System
The latest update introduces a significant overhaul to the trader system in Stationeers. Previously, traders and their inventory were procedurally generated, but now they are meticulously handcrafted. This change has been made to enhance the mod support and encourage the creation of unique traders by modders.
Traders now primarily deal in basic items rather than fully assembled products. Moreover, they now have specific preferences when buying and selling items based on thematic logic. For instance, the alloy trader sells alloys but prefers to buy ores. Additionally, traders may have special items for sale or purchase.
New Variety of Traders
There are currently 5 distinct traders in the game, each specializing in their exclusive range of goods. Higher-tier traders offer a broader selection of items. The distinct traders are:
- Ore Trader: More Ore Less
- Alloy Trader: All Alloys
- Hydroponics Trader: Green Futures
- Gas Trader: Gas For Less
- Construction Trader: Build INC
Gas Trading Enhancements
The update introduces two new landing pad modules that allow you to store gas and water, enabling you to sell them to traders. A tooltip now indicates the specific gas mixture conditions accepted by the trader.
The landing pad features a storage atmosphere, expandable storage capacity, and is meant for short-term storage. Before loading a new gas mix to sell, ensure to purge the existing atmosphere to prevent mixing.
Redesigned Trader User Interface
To accommodate the bespoke nature of traders and their items, a new user interface has been introduced. The updated UI enhances the trading experience by separating buy and sell sections into distinct tabs, making trade item details more visible and understandable.
The trading process has also been refined. Instead of selecting all items at once, you can now buy and sell items individually.

Another trading update is in the pipeline, leveraging the enhancements from recent updates to refine and polish the trading mechanics. Expect traders with varying size and environmental requirements, prompting you to customize your landing pads accordingly and possibly have multiple pads to cater to different traders’ needs.
