We’ve known for a few days that Diablo IV will get a bit of a showcase at the IGN Fan Fest 2023 gathering, scheduled for this month’s 17th and 18th. Now, it’s been rumored that the event will unveil the game’s open beta release date.
Rod Fergusson, the general manager of Diablo at Blizzard, revealed this information in a tweet, where he made a not-so-cryptic remark on the upcoming disclosure of the game’s beta.
… One Might Announce Such a Thing!
One user requested Fergusson if he might comment on the Diablo IV open beta in the famed tweet. Fergusson responded by making a cunning statement that…
Soon! If only we were presenting at some sort of gaming moment this month where one might announce such a thing…— Rod Fergusson (@RodFergusson) February 2, 2023
Soon! If only we were performing at a gaming event this month where such an announcement might be made…
That is a direct allusion to the IGN Fan Fest event in just over a week, suggesting that Blizzard may be announcing something about the Diablo IV beta event soon.
Almost two months have passed since The Game Awards, where the release date for Diablo IV was confirmed, and more than three years have passed since the game’s announcement at Blizzcon 2019. The trailer that revealed such information is as follows:
Only a few details about the upcoming Diablo IV beta have been made public during the past few months. For instance, the minimum open beta time is two days, according to Blizzard’s website. Additionally, individuals who made pre-purchases were given early access to the beta. However, it has yet to be discovered how early.
The closed beta took place the previous year, but only a little information about the game leaked. The 17th and 18th of February are likely dates for an open beta test, so fans should get ready for a new trailer then.
