An industry insider claims that Sony will host a PlayStation State of Play broadcast in “a month or two.”

According to Report, The State of Play Event for PlayStation is Expected to Take Place in March

Jeff Grubb provided the timeline in the most recent Game Mess Decides podcast episode. Grubb revealed that Sony would soon be prepared to showcase more of its forthcoming games in an interview with GamesBeat’s Mike Minotti.

There will soon be a State of Play here, according to Grubb. So, there will be even more game announcements!

In late January, Microsoft conducted their Xbox & Bethesda developer direct. This week, Nintendo released a Direct that was jam-packed with games. PlayStation owners are keen to see what Sony has planned for the PS5.

Having the new State of Play is wonderful, but Grubb suggests lowering expectations.

Don’t set your expectations too high, advises Grubb. “The State of Play is going to be underwhelming and understated.”

That does not imply that Sony will not release any PlayStation platforms in 2023 or later. Instead, the business may want to hold off on making any significant news until a summer PlayStation presentation. Near the time it used to exhibit at the once-dominant E3 gaming expo in June, Sony has recently moved its key presentation online.

As for the date of the upcoming State of Play? Grubb is still determining the specifics. He says it might happen “a little sooner, maybe a month or so.” If so, the performance would be in the early March window or possibly even late February.

Major game announcements might have to wait, but fans can still play many previously leaked PlayStation games. The most obvious competitor is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, whose precise 2023 release date has yet to be confirmed.
