Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare has been officially confirmed by Activision, just in the same hours as players start moving into Season 2. The network also appeared the first details about some of the news. which will be introduced in the future.
According to IGN, Season 3 will include the return of two modes already familiar to fans of the series, namely Gunfight and Plunder, as well as the introduction of ranked matches in the free-to-play Battle Royale.
First introduced in Modern Warfare, the Gunfight mode features 2v2 combat lasting up to forty seconds. After the time runs out, if the players are still alive, capturing the flag determines the winner. The mode will arrive in Season 3 and will be playable on a variety of maps updated season after season.
Instead, in the heist mode, the teams in the game must be the first to collect two million dollars in loot. In Call of Duty: Warzone, the match featured 102 players and was played with a thirty-minute time limit. It is unclear if these rules will be changed in Season 3 of the current chapter.
Finally, ranked matches are new to free-to-play games. Apart from their existence, no other details are known, but since we have the entire second season ahead of us, we have enough time to open them day by day.
