Musk had made several changes to Twitter’s work system and structure since its $44 billion acquisition last October, in efforts to increase revenues and reduce costs.
On Friday, Twitter announced the closure of its three offices in India and asked its employees to work from home, following instructions from the company’s billionaire owner, Elon Musk, to cut expenses and restore financial stability.
And ‘Twitter’ laid off more than 90% of its workforce in India at the end of last year and closed two offices in central New Delhi and Mumbai, while continuing to work at its Bangalore headquarters, which includes most of the company’s engineers.
India is a major developing market for US tech giants such as Meta Platforms and Alphabet, the parent company of US search engine Google.
